5 Steps to Plan a Kids Birthday Party

Every year, your kids birthday is just around the corner and you find yourself wondering how to plan a kids birthday party that will rock their socks. Here are five simple steps to help you make your kids next birthday party a smashing success!

1. Plan a Kids Birthday Party with Some Help

Why try to do it all yourself? If you want to have fun at your kids party, enlist the help of family and friends and maybe a professional or two. Get friends and family to help send out invitations and hire a clown to keep the kids entertained with face painting, balloon animals, and a few magic tricks. If you are hiring an entertainer, be sure to check their ratings on Google and Yelp before making a decision. A good entertainer will make your kid’s day amazing, but a bad one will ruin it for sure!

2. Pick a Theme for your Kids Birthday Party

Find out what your kids favorite cartoon characters are and throw a character party (think Elmo, Sponge Bob, princesses, cowboys, or pirates). This will help you pick out the decorations, cake and other party supplies. Games that feature your child’s favorite character can be fun too. Sit down with your child and write down both your thoughts on paper as you plan the party.

3. Write Down the Details

You’ll need to write down some of the details, including: when is the party going to be, where will it be hosted, how long will it last, and how many kids will be there? You will definitely want to have these details written down before calling your kid’s party entertainer.

4. Early is Better

You should have the supplies and decorations purchased and the entertainer(s) hired at least a month before the party date. This will keep you from having to make do with last minute plans or having to pay more for last minute arrangements with the entertainer.

5. Take a Deep Breath and Enjoy Your Party!

If you’ve done all your homework, shopping and hiring ahead of time, you should be able to take a deep breath and enjoy your kid’s birthday party. Kids grow up fast, so enjoy this chapter of life with them and be sure to take lots of photos!
